Share a Night
What would it be like to "walk in someone else's shoes?"
Imagine yourself pacing back and forth for hours in the hospital waiting room. Your heart feels like it’s beating out of your chest as you wait to see your critically ill child post-surgery. Or maybe, it’s because your child was born 10 weeks early and has severe respiratory distress. Or your child was born with a rare disorder that requires multiple surgeries in the first few years of life.
You walk into their hospital room and grip onto their bed rail with white knuckles, using all your energy to produce a warm smile. You want to be strong, optimistic and loving, but, internally, you’re tired, drained and in desperate need of rest.
At night, when the lights go out, you can’t sleep and lay wide awake. You’re up thinking about your child’s health and the financial responsibilities associated with your child’s illness, travel and lodging. You so want to be able to spend time with your child and not have to worry about regular but necessary life tasks. This is why there is a Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga.
RMHC of Greater Chattanooga is dedicated to keeping families with sick children close to each other and the care and resources they need. It serves as a catalyst that brings people together. It believes that a home is more than four walls and a roof over your head. It is the intangible magic that transpires in moments shared together.
When you give a gift of $66 to the Share-A-Night fund, you provide a hot meal and cozy beds for tired parents and children.
You will sleep a little better knowing you have helped a family in need-and more importantly, they will sleep better too.
