Everett's Story

Meet Everett Norris, a cheerful young man from Ellijay, Georgia, about a two-hour drive from Chattanooga. Just five days after Everett was born, he was diagnosed with severe bowel obstructions in three areas of his intestine. He underwent several surgeries to remove the blockages which meant an extended stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

The Norris family spent two months at the Ronald McDonald House during Everett’s hospital stay.  Crystal Norris says without the Ronald McDonald House she would have had to sleep on benches at the hospital or sell her belongings just to be close to her son during this time.

“I am very grateful for all the House stands for and I pray that it will always be there for families that need a place to stay,” said Crystal Norris, Everett’s mom and Ronald McDonald House Guest.

Everett is now an active 12 year old.  He is a student at Clear Creek Middle School in Fannin County and serves as a Boy Scout in his community.
