Family with triplets grateful for Ronald McDonald House

Terri and Adam Kilgore are the parents of triplet boys, Riley, Ryan and Reed. They were born prematurely weighing under 5 pounds. Two of the triplets had a 2 week stay in the neonatal intensive care unit. The third, Riley was small but strong enough to leave the hospital without additional care.

The Kilgores live in Chatsworth, Georgia, about 45 minutes outside of Chattanooga. They could not imagine leaving their two tiny babies behind. Adam who works as a police officer and his wife, Terri a 9-1-1 dispatcher, shares that “it was hard being away from home but a blessing to be so close to the babies.”

The couple spent 16 days at Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House while Ryan and Reed were receiving treatment across the street in the neonatal intensive care unit at T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital.

The Kilgores say they are no strangers to Ronald McDonald House Charities. They recall a friend who used the "home away from home” a few years ago.

“Unless you’re in the situation, you never take anything for granted. You just never know when it’s going to hit close to home,” said Terri.

“I don’t know what we would have done if we didn’t have Ronald McDonald House,” concludes Adam.
